Leadership: A Missing Framework

Have you ever wondered whether a group could exist for the combined purpose of both training young leaders and coordinating them for the cause of Christ?  What if the group were established by energized and principled youth themselves?  The Young Christian Leader’s Alliance is such a group!  It is the aim of our network to both learn leadership and character skills for life, and provide increasing ways to put those skills into practice.  We realize there is a great need for involved, active, service-minded youth in the work of the Lord.  Our objective is to prepare youth for  true leadership in this work by providing experience, opportunity, and Biblical examples and teaching.  We believe true leadership is not found by direct pursuit, but indeed by servanthood, as Jesus taught for instance in Matthew 23:11-12.

The New Reformation of Righteousness

The modern church and culture are in desperate need of reformation.  The Bible has been increasingly attacked, or worse, simply left to the sidelines as believers are lulled to sleep by the world.   Evangelism has gradually lapsed in many places due to an incomplete and powerless gospel message.  Evolution has crept into the church and created increasing doubt and despair.  Our freedoms have been placed in jeopardy on many fronts. Truly, America, and the Christian heritage which we were founded upon, are not on track to maintain genuine prosperity.

However, God has begun to bring a movement into shape to awaken and revive His people.  This reformation movement proclaims the complete authority of God’s Word. It emphasizes the power of God to save from sin and transform lives, affecting all aspects of the culture, including politics, science, education, and more. These ideas are well-described by the term "Biblical worldview."

While God is at work, we must also recognize that the “rulers of the darkness of this world” (Ephesians. 6:12) are continuing to grow in power and influence. They will only be finally defeated by Jesus Christ Himself. Thus, the YCLA emphasizes that “the weapons of our warfare are not carnal [fleshly], but mighty through God…” (II Corinthians 10:4) 

The objective of the YCLA is for each member to become a servant who God can use to lead for Him in powerfully proclaiming the Biblical worldview.  We endeavor to live, and train others to live, as Christ's ambassadors.  Our members work to support organizations which “turn many to righteousness” (Daniel 12:3) and promote Biblical, freedom-upholding values.  Check out organizations we support here!

Impacting in Christ's Spirit

It is our goal to affirm and encourage the Biblical worldview in as many ways as possible. Our current strategy includes prayer and fasting, community outreach, distribution of literature, the creative BEAMS training program, prayer groups in schools, and volunteer political lobbying on issues of moral importance.

Most importantly, we wish to be examples of Christ (I Timothy 4:12).  We want to befriend and serve others in our daily lives. Our members encourage each other to always show Christ’s love and walk in His Spirit. It is our view that true leadership and character are only brought about through a humble, serving attitude, and a committed trust in God, our great Creator.
